Unity Dance Ministry
Unity Dance Ministry
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
In 1987 Rev. Johnny Ray Youngblood wanted to break tradition, but knew it had to be biblically sound. He researched scripture and found that King David danced. After studying and praying, God gave Rev. Youngblood the name “Davidic” which became the “Davidic Dancers” and evolved to the Unity Dance Ministry of present. The Dance Ministry members come from all walks of life, are all ages, sizes and some even have physical ailments, but that doesn’t stop them from worshiping and praising through dance! We continue our mission and have expanded our mission under our current Pastor, Rev. David Keith Brawley.
The Unity Dancers of Saint Paul Community Baptist Church serves God and his people through our gift of dance. We are ambassadors of Christ, continually praising and worshipping Him with our bodies as living sacrifices. Our intentions are to teach the good news of Jesus through scripture and movement. We glorify God through dance and we strive to keep our bodies, minds and spirits healthy on this healing journey as we sacrifice our temple unto Him.
It is our prayer that others will come to know Jesus in the power of His resurrection as we proclaim the word of God through dance.
