Do you have a voice that electrifies the crowd and a passion for dance that can't be contained?

Dance Parade New York is looking for a charismatic Stage Emcee to lead the festival either on the Main or Community Stages at DanceFest, the electrifying festival folloiwng the 18th Annual Dance Parade! Taking place in Tompkins Square Park from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, DanceFest features a dazzling array of performances, workshops, and dance experiences across four stages. As one of two Stage Emcees, you'll be the driving force, keeping the energy high and the crowd moving.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver a professional and engaging welcome to the DanceFest audience.
• Collaborate with the curation committee to prepare captivating introductions (15-30 seconds) for each performance group, highlighting their unique style and background.
• Maintain a high-energy atmosphere, keeping the crowd informed about the festival schedule and enticing them to participate in various dance activities.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive space that celebrates diverse dance forms.

Qualifications:

• Strong stage presence and clear, dynamic voice that can command an audience.
• Extensive knowledge of various dance styles or a strong passion for learning.
• Exceptional improvisation skills to adapt to program changes or unexpected situations.
• Ability to research and craft concise, engaging introductions for diverse performing groups.
• Infectious enthusiasm and a positive, engaging personality.
